Jackie Atim Okot is an emerging Poet/Spoken Word artist from Wagga Wagga. After bursting onto thelocal scene last year she continues to go from strength to strength having being chosen to support former Australian Poetry Slam winner Zohab Khan on his regional tour. Jackie received a Variety Heart scholarship which has allowed her to publish a number of her works in a collaborative project with a number of other local artists and is undertaking a mentorship curated by Eastern Riverina Arts to develop her creative practice, which has seen her attend workshops at the Sydney Writers Festival. Most recently she was invited as the feature artist to the Mother Tongue Multilingual showcase in Canberra and co MC’d Wagga Wagga’s Fusion Festival in 2018.
