Katrina Roe is a children’s author, book reviewer, audiobook narrator and media professional. Katrina writes inclusive stories that inspire kids to face real-life challenges with courage and kindness.
Katrina worked in radio, television and media production for more than 25 years, hosted a long-term morning radio show in Sydney and was the creator of two podcasts, The Hope Book Club and Australia’s Invisible History. As a producer, she has created radio programs, podcasts, TV commercials, corporate videos and print campaigns that get noticed.
Her years in the media have made Katrina an experienced and professional MC, interviewer, panel moderator or presenter for your next event. She is as comfortable entertaining 5000 people at a carols event as she is presenting at a conference or interviewing best-selling authors. Katrina is a warm, prepared and professional host who can tackle sensitive topics with compassion and bring out the best in her guests.
Her picture books have all been shortlisted for various awards including the Speech Pathology Book of the Year and the CBCA Notables. In 2019 Lily’s Balloon won the Caleb Prize. In 2023, she won the Forevability Award for Same, and her middle grade manuscript, The Stolen Child won the published author section of the CYA competition. It is being published as The Stolen Bairn by Riveted Press in 2026. Her new picture book, The Man Who Stood Up to Ned Kelly will be released by Wombat Books in 2026.
In her day job, Katrina works in marketing for a large regional library service and occasionally fills in on ABC Saturday Breakfast.
She writes on Wiradjuri Country in Wagga Wagga where she lives with her arty family, three chickens and a sock-stealing dog called Toby Trouble.
