Sue Wood creates art in a purpose built studio in her backyard in Junee. She enjoys working in different mediums, including stitched textiles, artist books, mixed media and found poetry. Her work focuses on landscape and place and, on occasion, is made in response to objects and documents held in museums and archives. Sue aims to create poetic work that is well crafted, beautiful to look and evokes a response in the viewer.
Sue’s textile work has been exhibited in Australia and overseas, including solo exhibitions at WWAG and the ANCA Gallery in Canberra.
She has Masters degree in visual art from Charles Sturt University, a PhD in embroidery history from RMIT University, and teaching qualifications and extensive teaching experience. She is available to teach workshops for community groups and also offers bookmaking workshops in her own studio.
