Art has always been in my veins, with many members of my family being artists in their own right. I didn’t take on the same art as them, I was searching for a different way to use my creativity.

After attending a weaving workshop a few years back, I was hooked! I have now developed my own style and techniques. I love using natural products like wool, silk, cotton. I also love to spend time foraging the beach and bush for driftwood and interesting limbs on which to hang my works.

I only use discarded, found and second hand products in all my pieces. My full time job in a local clothing alternations business means I can collect the cut-offs of customers’ clothing to start creating. Each week I take home bags of scraps and sort through them.

I know the Reduce, Reuse & Recycle catchphrase gets thrown around a lot these days and I believe many people are doing what they can. I just take it a step further and create pieces that I hope will last a few more years for people to enjoy… and stay out of landfill.
