Sculptor Andrew Whitehead is best known for creating dramatic artworks for regional towns and communities across Australia as well as private commissions.
His medium is found rural and industrial metal artefacts dating from a time when ‘horsepower’ meant from a horse not a machine.
Plough parts, twisted tools, & chunky cogs lead the viewer on a historical path of old trades and forgotten skills as they constantly shift their gaze from ‘the whole’ to the individual artefacts that make it up.
His sculptures are site specific and record significant history of people, events and native wildlife.
