Friends of the Athenium originally came about to save this beautiful theatre, which was achieved nearly 20 years ago. Our focus then became raising funds for the ongoing refurbishment of the building, which will always be ongoing. We now also widely promote the theatre and all it has to offer which has recently attracted the likes of Golden Guitar Winner, Fanny Lumsden, who absolutely loves the theatre and the acoustics. We also have Amber Lawrence and Catherine Britt coming back to rock the roof again.
Many balls, weddings, dinner dances, fundraisers and any other kind of event you can think of has been held in the theatre over the years and is every continuing.
We have the ability to assist with suppers, movies, fundraisers, in fact just ask as the country hospitality is alive and well within our committee.
