Elyssa Storey Artist

Elyssa Storey is an Australian painter and photographer whose work explores the natural textures of the Australian landscape and her deep connection to agricultural Australia.

Specialising in acrylic impasto painting, Elyssa often incorporates materials like sand to achieve bold textures, using palette knife strokes to bring her landscapes to life.

Her art reflects her country childhood 36km north of Bathurst and her past experience working as a farmhand in the Riverina, capturing the raw beauty of the land that shaped her. Elyssa’s pieces invite viewers to reflect on how these landscapes have influenced her personal journey, offering a unique perspective of both rural life and the environment.

Through her work, she hopes to resonate with others who see the same beauty in the land, evoking a shared sense of connection to the Australian landscape.

Currently based in Temora, Elyssa has showcased her work in a solo exhibition, The Bush & Beyond: Australia’s Seasonal Palette, at Rosnay Organic in Canowindra, and is expanding her presence in shops and workshops across the Riverina and regional NSW. Her style combines modern, vibrant aesthetics with the timeless techniques of impasto and palette knife painting. By blending bold colours and dynamic brushstrokes, she creates work that feels fresh and contemporary while honouring the enduring appeal of classic techniques, making it perfect for today’s bold and expressive art scene. Elyssa also aims to make a positive impact through her art by using materials such as canvases made from 100% recycled bottles, and Australian-made, zero-VOC, non-toxic paints, mediums, and varnishes whenever possible.

Elyssa currently sells the majority of her original art and prints online and has some original art on display and for purchase in local businesses. She also provides additional services like commissioned artworks and workshops with the hopes of expanding those services in 2025.
