The Art Factory

The Art Factory is a contemporary supported arts studio based in Wagga Wagga, providing a professional, artist-led environment for artists with disability to develop and sustain their creative practice.

Part of the national Supported Studio Network, The Art Factory offers more than access to materials or space — it is a place where artists are supported to build autonomy, confidence, and a distinct visual language. The studio operates with a non-directive philosophy, encouraging artists to explore their own ideas, mediums, and styles while being supported through mentoring, guidance, and meaningful professional pathways.

Artists working at The Art Factory engage in a wide range of contemporary visual art practices and are supported to connect with exhibitions, networks, career opportunities, and the broader arts sector. The studio functions as a creative hub and makers’ space, fostering exchange between artists, arts workers, and the local community, while maintaining a strong focus on artist agency and voice.

Facilitated by Riverina Community College, The Art Factory is a registered NDIS provider and plays a significant role in supporting the professional development, employment pathways, and leadership opportunities of artists with disability across the Riverina region. Its work sits at the intersection of contemporary art, social justice, and disability-led practice, contributing to ongoing change within both the visual arts and disability sectors.
