Maris Herr Collections

I’ve always been drawn to materials and how they can be shaped. I started out in textiles, playing with colour, texture and structure, then moved into metalwork and silversmithing to see how those ideas translated into a tougher medium.

Things really opened up when I discovered laser cut timber. It hits the sweet spot for me — the precision of the cutting, the warmth of the wood, and the hands on finishing that keeps every piece individual. It’s the place where tech and craft meet, and it gives me endless room to experiment.
That constant flow of ideas is also where Maris Herr Collections comes from. My brain doesn’t sit still — I’m always sketching, testing, reworking, jumping between concepts — so the name reflects that mix of thoughts, materials and designs that never really stops.

These days, most of my work grows out of that process. I pull in everything I’ve learned from textiles and metal, but timber is where it all comes together. I like making pieces that feel tactile, considered and a little unexpected, and I’m always chasing the next idea that wants to be made.
