Cory McKenzie is a Wiradjuri/Gamilaroi First Nations established visual artist based in Griffith NSW. He works in a number of mediums and sizes and is a cultural engagement practitioner who dedicates his artform to all things family, Culture and Connection to Country. As a recipient of the 2019 NAIDOC ‘Artist of the Year’ Award in Griffith, Cory describes himself as a visual artist of many different art forms: “I let my artwork unfold organically and base my work completely on what I am feeling. I believe my work is an adaptation of the many different situations, stories and flow state of my life. My art flows subconsciously, it’s creativity mixed with my cultural upbringing and teachings from my father.”
