Come and explore the many treasures on display at the Parkside Cottage Museum.
Our historic museum, established in 1968 in a century old timber cottage, holds an eclectic collection from Narrandera and the surrounding district, including the private collection of the late Dr H.O. Lethbridge.
One of the most celebrated items on display is the scarlet coloured merino cloak – the only one of its kind in the world and was made from the first bale of wool sent to England by the Macarthur family in 1816.
Early Riverboat trade on the Murrumbidgee is represented by the navigation maps of Captain T Bynon. There is a snow shoe and a wooden snow ski from Scott’s Antarctica Expedition, as well as historic clothing and agricultural tools and items.
We also now offer local family history for inquisitive minds researching their family history, so come in and see us.
