Louisa Antico

Louisa Antico is a visual artist working at the intersection of dreams and memories. Subconscious imagery plays an important part her creative process, where infinite possibilities emerge within the fluid spaces between reality and imagination.

Inner layers are exposed in her work, revealing intricate mark making techniques and patterns that describe nature and the cosmos at a cellular and molecular level, the invisible patterns that make up our world.

Louisa’s artwork has been acquired through competitions and exhibitions for public and private collections in Australia and overseas. She has been exhibited and highly commended in a number of major art awards including The Portia Geach Memorial Award, The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, The Waverley Art Prize, The Hutchins Contemporary Art Prize, The International Ceramics Award Japan, and The Fishers Ghost Open Art Award.

Louisa was born in Sydney where she attended the National Art School. Her art practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, etching, and mixed media. She lives and has a studio in Adelong NSW, nestled in the Snowy Mountains.
