ARTISTIC
Tayla Martin is a regional photo-media artist based in Wagga Wagga, who grew up in rural NSW in the community of Nyngan. Growing up in a regional town has shaped Martin’s practice and passion about the future growth of arts in regional areas, and the importance these communities play in society. Martin who has exhibited both locally and internationally, studied a Bachelor of Photography & Graphic Design at Charles Sturt University graduating in 2017.
Her practice is influenced by the people and landscape around us. Looking at environmental changes to the world and how these effect the people living in these communities. Martin’s documentary style captures both portraiture and the environmental landscape pieceing together her photographic stories.
Martin also works in arts administration and is committed to contributing to the future development of arts in regional areas.
COMMERCIAL
Martin has worked with local artists and businesses using documentary photography to assist in the marketing of their businesses. The latest project recently launched aims to work together with local creatives and small businesses to capture and showcase “who you are and what your business represents.”
Martin has also worked with organisations including FACS NSW Government, Australian Unity and Wagga Wagga City Council on photo documentary projects.
