Details

I am a practicing photomedia artist based in Wagga Wagga NSW and my passion for the visual language of photography stems from a fundamental need for creative exploration and expression. My work draws on the community and environment in which I live; it is informed by an aesthetic that prioritises composition; and it constitutes a platform from which to consider my place in the world at large.

Academically, I hold a Master of Arts Practice in Photomedia, a BA in Graphic Design with Class 1 Honours, and a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) – all from Charles Sturt University – as well as an Associate Diploma of Arts from Southern Cross University. I have also studied and worked with the celebrated Japanese theatre director and philosopher, Tadashi Suzuki, in Australia, Japan and the United States.

My first solo exhibition of photography was The Wheel at CSU’s HR Gallop Gallery at the close of my Graphics degree. In 2014 I showed The Quest: The Pursuit of Meaning at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s E3 art space; in 2015 several of my cloudscapes were shown as part of the Prague Quadrennial of Performance, Design and Space; in 2016 I presented The Makers at Eastern Riverina Arts’ Window Gallery; and in 2017 I presented Time and Place, again at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery’s E3 art space.

For the last two years I have been employed as a sessional lecturer in digital imaging and photography at Charles Sturt University’s School of Communication and Creative Industries.
